Dear All,
If you are interested in doing a DPhil (PhD) in evidence-based medicine,
there are some pre-scholarship bursaries available - see add below.
Regards
Paul Glasziou
The University of Oxford Department of Primary Health Care is offering a
number of bursaries to provide protected time and support for people who
are seeking to undertake a DPhil/PhD (or equivalent) in primary health
care.
These may be taken on a 6 month full-time or 12 month part-time basis,
at research council studentship level. The bursary holder will develop
research ideas, with support of lead researchers in the department, and
undertake research training. During the 6 – 12 months of their bursary
they will be expected to design their future DPhil project and apply for
funding to support their DPhil studies. Award of a bursary does not
guarantee funding for DPhil studies, and the bursary holders will not be
registered for their DPhil whilst supported on this short-term funding.
The bursaries are particularly aimed at increasing the number of non-GP
researchers, including other primary health care workers (nurses,
physiotherapists, pharmacists, etc), and those in non-clinical
disciplines relevant to primary care (sociology, psychology, statistics,
microbiology, epidemiology etc).
