On behalf of De Gruyter (Berlin and New York), I am editing a new Handbook
of Medieval Studies that will take stock of the history of research in a
wide range of aspects, topics, themes, and figures concerning the Middle
Ages. Many of the topics are already assigned, but I recently lost a much
esteemed colleague who died from cancer. His assignments had been:
1. Michele Barbi,
2. Vittore Branca,
3. Giosuč Carducci,
4. Gianfranco Contini
These are all available again. Moreover, if any Italianist might want to
make additional suggestions regarding any of the major categories, please
let me hear from you. All the relevant information is available at:
