The "Studienstiftung des Abgeordnetenhauses von Berlin" sponsors a
scholarship programme that aims at promoting young scholars from Great
Britain, France, the United States and the successor states of the
former Soviet Union. The applicants should be working on projects
concerned with Berlin, Germany or German-international issues. We also
welcome projects that require access to research facilities in Berlin.
Our main target groups include the humanities and the social sciences,
but we remain open to other disciplines as well.
The grants are awarded according to academic achievements. Presently,
the Study Foundation awards about 20 twelve-month grants per year. As a
rule, the stipend amounts up to 770 EUR for pre-doctoral students and
up to 1,300 EUR for post-doctoral scholars per month. In addition, the
foundation assumes travel costs as well as rental costs for housing at
the International Study Centre in Berlin.
During their twelve month stay in Berlin, grant winners will not only
be offered the opportunity to experience their disciplines from an
international perspective, but they will also be encouraged to learn
more about the people and culture of Berlin.
Please, take a look at our website http://www.parlament-berlin.de
(please click "Wissenswertes"). The application deadline is December
15, 2006. The scholarship will begin on October 1, 2007 and end on
September 30, 2008.
