Of course you have, it is the media to blame I expect, indeed autism has too
long been used as a Mcguffin in the movies a tabula rasa to project others
imagery onto. This is essentialy a pysco-social phenomenon which has its
predecessors in modern post enlightenment culture (eg. myths of the noble
savage, rosicrucian legends anthroposophy etc.) in fact there is a long
line connecting the Californian west coast to germanic notions of
vegetarianism, naturism, theosophy etc etc. but I am sure you already know
that :)
