That is, presumably, 'where they were first held'. If not, one would
have to consider such famous travellers as Oswald or Boniface.
Richard of Andria comes to mind right away. His supposed relics still
lie in the cathedral at Andria. But one would have to accept 1) that
those really are _his_ relics and 2) that he really was an Englishman.
Also Willibrord. When in 1797 the abbey at Echternach was secularized
W.'s relics were taken from the abbey church to the town's parish
church of St. Peter and Paul. In 1906 they were brought back to the
abbey church. In 1939, during the festivities for the twelfth
centenary of W.'s death, they were placed in a newly built confessio in
the church (which latter has since been rebuilt). See the final
