Tenure Track Assistant Professor in Anthropology

The Department of Anthropology invites applications from Historical
Archaeologists for a tenure track Assistant Professor in Anthropology
starting August 2007. Applicants must have a PhD in hand in Anthropology
from a North American university with a specialty in Historical
Archaeology.
Responsibilities include a 3/3 load at the introductory, advanced and
graduate levels and regular summer field courses, advising undergraduates
and graduates, serving on graduate committees, and directing theses.
Preferred research areas are the Spanish or British colonial in the
Southeast. Applicants must have experience in major field excavations,
working with students, volunteers, and the general public. Applicants must
also have a proven track record in obtaining grants and contracts.
Research will need to link to existing programs and include the local
area. Our Department values and practices working together and working
with others. Salary: $40,000 - $50,000.
