others planning to attend.
Please send any queries not covered below to [log in to unmask]
(academic programme) or [log in to unmask] (registration). (Please note

Programme and Schedule
The final schedule is online at
http://www.bris.ac.uk/archanth/events/chat2006.html
In addition to the keynote speakers (Laurie Wilkie and Gavin Lucas), 4
colleagues have agreed to act as discussants at various points in
proceedings - Prof. Mary Beaudry (Boston University), Prof. Matthew
Johnson (Southampton University), Kate Clark (Heritage Lottery Fund), and
Prof. Anne Yentsch (Armstrong Atlantic State University).
Concluding remarks will be given by Prof. Peter Wells (University of
Minnesota).
Information for Presenters
Papers should be kept a maximum of 15 minutes in length - a time-schedule
that will be kept to very tightly. As ever, we shall strive to retain the
conference's informal atmosphere. Powerpoint, slides and OHP will all be
accommodated. DVD and VHS will be available for the Saturday evening event
at the Cube. Anyone with more unusal AV requirements should get in touch
with Dan or Angela with details.
Where possible, we would be very grateful if presenters could send 1500-
2000-word summaries of their papers, for circulation to discussants and to
Peter Wells for his concluding remarks (these will not be published online
or elsewhere). The summaries should arrive by 15 October 2006, and should
be sent by email to [log in to unmask]
Registration
Since all sessions are plenary, numbers are limited. At CHAT 2003 we had
to close registration before the conference - and although we are in a
larger venue this time we do encourage those who wish to attend to
register in the next few weeks. The £30 fee covers coffee and tea, lunch
on the Saturday, and the wine reception on the Friday. Registration is
administered by Sam Barlow - email [log in to unmask]
Times and Arrival
Proceedings run from 2pm (sharp) on Friday 10 November 2006, and concludes
at 1pm on Sunday 12 November. Registration will be open from 12.30pm in
the Department of Drama. Delegates are asked to arrive by 1.30pm - coffee
and tea (but not lunch) will be provided from 1pm.
Venue
The conference takes place in the Wickham Theatre (Bristol, BS8 1UP),
which is located within the Department of Drama at the University of
Bristol - a short walk down the hill from the Department of Archaeology
and Anthropology. The Saturday evening session will take place at the Cube
Microplex venue, which is a short walk from the Drama department.
Advice on transport to the University, and campus maps, are online at
http://www.bristol.ac.uk/university/maps/
Accommodation
Delegates are responsible for their own accommodation. There is a great
range of accommodation available within walking distance of the conference
venue. Nearby hotels include the Clifton Hotels Group, the more affordable
Premier Travel Inn at Haymarket, and the Hawthorns (University of Bristol).
