In Norse legend, Midgard middle earth is surrounded by ocean and a wall
around the gods. Brahmin mythic Meru is a mountain of the gods surrounded by
7 oceans and 7 ring mountains.
Scandinavian "mur" meaning "a wall" is in Irish "mu`r", Welsh "mur" , L.
"murus". "Mu`rla" was a coat of mail-armour, and "merlo" the corner-posts of
a Norman castle battlement as a strong wall.(Egyptian "m.r" means pyramid,
"mero" a good water view, nobleman).
Is this the sense of the embankments around Tara and iron-age temples? Were
these called "mor mu`r" "mawr mur"?
