With respect back, I'm not sure that referring to the arrival of Eastern
Europeans elsewhere in the world, in whatever numbers, without the use on their
part of violence to enable their arrival, and no effort on their part to
undermine or control the social or political system into which they've arrived
can fairly be described as "invasion". The examples in the past referred to, eg
Saxon arrival in Britain, do not offer, I think, any sort of reasonable
parallel. That aside, the focus seemed to me to be on whether the current rise
in numbers of Eastern Europeans outside their homelands will lead at some future
time to conflict.
Maybe I'm missing something, but I can't see any relevance to archaeology -
British or otherwise - in all this.
