** Apologies for cross posting**
Dear Colleagues
Liverpool University Centre for Archive Studies is pleased to offer another
event in their popular 'in the archives' series, with the forthcoming event
'Sex in the Archives'. The event will be taking place on Saturday 30
September at 2pm at the Liverpool Medical Institution.
The event will bring together a range of local and national speakers to
talk on issues relating to 'sex' that can be found in the archives. The
event will feature lectures on sources available in local record offices,
papers relating to sex held by the Mass Observation Archive, a talk on the
history and issues of homosexuality in the archives and also on Josephine
Butler and approaches to prostitution in Liverpool.
It will be a varied and interesting afternoon which will discuss archival
material that may have been taboo in its day but now provides the public
with an invaluable insight into sex as found in the archives
This is a FREE afternoon but entry is strictly by ticket only. In order to
book your ticket or for further information contact Lizzie Woulfe on 0151

Many thanks
Lizzie
