APPLICATIONS CONSULTANT
Role: We are looking for a bright, knowledgable consultant to join our 
team to help our clients transform the way they use information
Reports to:  Director Information Management Services
Location:  UK wide
Proposition:  Information Management – there is a growing need for clients 
to revolutionalise the way they deal with information in order to operate 
effectively, realise costs savings and comply with legislation.  
Hedra works with public sector clients to:
•	Articulate their information management vision
•	Build information management business cases
•	Develop integrated information management programmes
•	Design and build new operating models
•	Redesign information management processes
•	Design new information management roles
•	Implement ECM and EDRM technology solutions
•	Manage the required change in culture and ways of working
•	Programme manage the change and undertake benefits realisation.

Role Responsibilities
Specific activities will include: 

•	The Application Consultant is responsible for performing the 
following:
•	Development of technical specifications
•	Development (or refining) test cases
•	Performing application testing activities
•	Translating business - I/T requirements
•	Interpreting data models
•	Configuring and develop selected EDRM COTS packages
•	Using application strategies for maintenance
•	Using full life cycle system development processes
•	Using programming languages if appropriate
•	Using software configuration management (SCM) tools
•	Using test tools
•	Performing root cause analysis in defect resolution and while 
debugging
Experience Required
  The consultant should ideally be able to/or have:
•	Experience of designing and implementing EDRM COTS solutions in 
the Public Sector, ideally Local Government, Central Government or Health 
Good understanding of Electronic Document and Records Management in the 
Public Sector
•	Deep understanding of at least 1 EDRM Package (Ideally Hummingbird 
DM/RM, OpenText,  LiveLink or Meridio. 
•	Sound experience of translating business requirements into 
functional solutions. 
•	Experience of all stages of the EDRM implementation life cycle 
specifically Design, Configuration, Testing, Release and post 
implementation support

SOLUTIONS ARCHITECT
Role: We are looking for a bright, knowledgeable consultant to join our

effectively, realise costs savings and comply with legislation.

•	Articulate their information management vision
•	Build information management business cases
•	Develop integrated information management programmes
•	Design and build new operating models
•	Redesign information management processes
•	Design new information management roles
•	Implement ECM and EDRM technology solutions
•	Manage the required change in culture and ways of working
•	Programme manage the change and undertake benefits realisation.
Role Responsibilities
The Solutions Architect will responsible for performing the following:
•	Gathering customer requirements, including functional and non-
functional requirements of the application
•	Reviewing application requirements for reasonability and 
conformance to project constraints
•	Assisting the business analyst in creating detailed requirements 
that specify the technical architecture of the system
•	Describing the functionality of the IT system, including designing 
the interactions between a system’s components, defining the interfaces 
provided by components, and documenting the dynamic behaviour of a system 
as expressed by collaborations between components
•	Developing architectures that promote reusability, 
maintainability, reliability, and scalability
•	Reviewing and evaluating standards and guidelines in place at a 
customer location
•	Developing and acquiring new standards and guidelines to close 
perceived gaps
•	Publishing relevant standards and guidelines that support 
application development and promoting compliance with established 
architecture
•	Tailoring the development methodology to support the specific 
tools, infrastructure and procedures for the targeted development 
environment 
•	Participating in other value-added operational processes such as 
project planning, staffing, testing, and quality assurance.
Experience Required
  The consultant should ideally be able to/or have:

•	Experience in designing and implementing complex IT applications 
architectures 
•	Sound understanding of IT standards (e.g SOAP) and Public Sector 
specific standards e.g. e-GIF)
•	Sound understanding of at least one COTS package - ideally EDRM, 
Knowledge of Public Sector IT Security. 
•	Experience of designing and implementing at least one EDRM based 
architecture in the Public Sector
•	Project Management
•	PRINCE 2

Role: We are looking for an experienced consultant to join our team to 
help our clients transform the way they use information
Reports to:  Director IMS
Location:  UK wide
Proposition:  Information Management – there is a growing need for clients 
to revolutionalise the way they deal with information in order to operate 
effectively, realise costs savings and comply with legislation.  
Hedra works with public sector clients to:

•	Articulate their information management vision
•	Build information management business cases
•	Develop integrated information management programmes
•	Design and build new operating models
•	Redesign information management processes
•	Design new information management roles
•	Implement ECM and EDRM technology solutions
•	Manage the required change in culture and ways of working
•	Programme manage the change and undertake benefits realisation.
Role Responsibilities
•	To successfully deliver information management consultancy 
assignments which meet and where possible exceed client expectations
•	Responsible for meeting the client’s needs and for meeting Hedra’s 
commercial objectives.
•	Involved with the full life cycle of package implementations, 
particularly EDRM, from working on the proposal, scoping the project and 
then delivering the project over a period on months.
•	Responsible for a diverse team of Hedra and possibly third party 
resources. 
Specific activities will include: 
•	Development and maintenance of the project work plan across all 
project phases
•	Facilitation of the development of application architecture, 
technology selection, and application specifications (as appropriate)
•	Communication of the project status to key stakeholders
•	Monitor compliance with technical and methodology processes and 
standards
•	Managing application development activities
•	Defining risk, determine risk mitigation strategies, and monitor 
status
•	Monitoring and assessing the quality of project deliverables
•	Facilitating the identification of reuse opportunities
•	Managing project close and transition to maintenance
•	Providing feedback on methodology improvement and customisation 
and share new tools to enhance processes
•	Facilitating the sharing and documentation of best practices and 
lessons  learned
•	Managing all project resources, including Hedra, customer, and 
subcontractors.
•	Establishing effective communication plan with project team and 
the customer
•	Providing day-to-day direction to the project team

Experience Required
  The consultant should ideally be able to/or have:

•	Experience of managing the implementation of package (COTS) 
solutions in the Public Sector, ideally Local Government, Central 
Government or Health, 
•	Good understanding of Electronic Document and Records Management 
in the Public Sector
•	Good understanding of at least 1 EDRM Package 
•	Highly effective team leader dealing in all aspects of project 
management - team development, client delivery, commercial management,
•	Qualified MSP practitioner, PRINCE 2,
•	Significant Public Sector experience,
•	Competencies that support Hedra’s proposition as outlined above
•	Educated to degree level or above
