Dear all,
I’m writing in my capacity as UK researcher for the
International Disability Rights Monitor. This role involves compiling a
report on various issues affecting people with disabilities in the UK. A
range of topics are covered and they fall under 4 broad headings:
Identifying the disability community; disability rights; accessibility and
inclusion and disability awareness and action. The report will form part
of a regional report on Europe to be published by the IDRM in early 2007.
As part of the research I am organising a discussion session on September
6th at Leeds University to take place between 3:30 and 5:30 pm.
The session is aimed at disability advocates and academics working in the
field of disability studies, and the goal is to obtain a broad perspective
of the views and opinions of people with disabilities from a variety of
interest groups.
If you wish to attend, or if you require further
information please get in touch with me via email at

Many thanks,
Gillian.
