Thanks Gareth. I have seen the special issue of Forum which was very useful.
Thanks for the contact email for David Smail.
Best wishes

Hi Rachel
good to see you on the community psychology list.
there have been some recent posts about community psychology groups on the list - apparently there is a west midlands group, a midlands group and an east midlands group. the midlands group wrote a recent special issue on social materialism in the DCP forum publication - this was circulated on the list in PDF and I can send this on to you if you're interested. I don't have details about the west mids group. i have cutnpasted a recent post about the east mids group. below
On a specific point about the course, I spoke to David Smail a couple of months ago and he said he'd think about teaching us if he was approached. Vidyah and I have both said in the past that we would like David to come and teach us. His email is [log in to unmask]

I've just copied the invitation Suzanne posted to Rukhsana, with the details of their next meeting on 19th October and about how they use the meeting to discuss community and critical psychology ideas.
Hope this helps.

hi rukhsana
welcome to the list. i hope you find it as interesting and inspiring as i do.
i also wanted to mention that a group of us have started meeting up quarterly in nottingham to think about community and critical psychology ideas. our third meeting will be on 19 october 2006 at 3.30 at westminster house, the wells road, nottingham. i realise that october seems a long way away and depending on what stage of training you are at, may be difficult. i would be happy for us to meet up sometime if you'd like. drop me an email individually if you're interested.

Subject: introduction
Hello all on the Community Psychology discussion list.
I am a Clinical Psychologist in Primary care in North Nottinghamshire and
have also recently joined the Trent DCLinPsy course as an academic tutor
two days per week. My primary reasons for joining the list are firstly to
learn more about community psychology and secondly to make some links with
people in the nottinghamshire, derbyshire and lincolnshire areas who may be
interested in informing or doing some teaching on community psychology on
the course. Thirdly I'd also like to make some links with people who are
on course teams for other DClinPsy training courses.
I look forward to the discussions on this list and also making contacts.
Rachel Sabin-Farrell
