See below - I'm sorry if I missed the outcome of this discussion but
Dick, if you are making the information literacy available I'd really
appreciate the spec as we are putting together some i-skills for our
students for this year.
Thanks

Hi Dick
If this moodle course is 'shareable' could you zip me up a copy and send
it to me at [log in to unmask]
If anyone is interested in subject specific resources, my colleague
Helen Roberts has created some fantastic moodle courses (accessible but
not shareable) at the following site:
Modern Foreign Languages -
http://moodle.rsc-london.ac.uk/course/view.php?id=35
Health and Social Care -
http://moodle.rsc-london.ac.uk/course/view.php?id=31
Business (under development) -
http://moodle.rsc-london.ac.uk/course/view.php?id=30
These can be accessed by guest login, but if you want to view the scorm
resources (Q project materials, etc.) best to create yourself an
account.
Happy holidays everyone
Philip

I don't have any problem with the idea of sharing what we have done with
anyone, but I'd suggest that you review and adapt it in relation to your
own needs before making it generally available. Let me know if you want
to see a copy of the course and I'll send it to you off list.

This "Information Skills" unit looks like something that I'd like to use
in the LUSID PDP system (lusid.org.uk).
Are you amenable to allowing the gerneral public at large use (a copy
of) your course?

| Hello Owen,
|
| We have written an OCN unit "Information Skills" which we have almost
| finished piloting with our Access students. It has generally gone
| well and the materials that we have generated will be reviewed,
| modified in parts and then used more generally by our Learning Centre.
| Our unit has been delivered in a PC classroom but all the materials
| are in a Moodle course site. It is assessed, and has a value of 2
| level 2 credits (FE)
| - approx 20 hrs learning. I can send you the spec off list if you
| like, and even a copy of the course site I think.

|
| We are currently implementing Moodle, and wondering if anyone has done
| anything in terms of delivering Information Literacy (searching etc)
| skills via their VLE, especially Moodle.
|
| What kind of approach have you taken (if any?), and how is it
| integrated into other courses within the VLE (if at all). Anyone doing
| this kind of thing (or generaly study skills) as Learning Objects
| (Scorm compliant or
| otherwise) rather than VLE 'courses'?
|
| Thanks,
|
