God I'm sick of this roundabout petty point scoring so why not just stop going on about metal detecting and start talking about important issues. Like the fact that EH seems to have stopped scheduling sites, that the Heritage Protection review seems to be merely stumbling along so the revisions to PPG 15 and 16 are still delayed. That the Aggregates industry is currently lobbying to stop pre-determination evaluation because of costs. These are serious issues and affect the profession as a whole and all interested individuals/groups as well as the actual archaeological heritage.
steve (probably letting the heat get to me but what the hell very very bored of PAS/MD rants)

David, do you really think that cooperation and working together is the name
of the game....?
I dont think there are that many detectorists left that would be so niaive
to believe this anymore.
Detectorists may be fearful for the future of their, they may not have the
answers that fit comfortably with the archaeological community, but the
attitudes expressed on here leave no illusions as the to what the future
holds for the hobby if the Britarchers of this world have their own way...
Many of the arguements are ephemeral in the extreme, such as Nigels pityful
attempt to blacken a childs game for example...
What room for cooperation and working together is there if this is an
example of what we have learned to expect?
