hi,
Am a bit late in answering this one, but I have been a-thinking!
My homepage (at home) is always set to Google, because, rightly or wrongly I think of the browser as the 'gateway' to the internet and Google is like the reception desk. So, in some ways it's like starting with all the possibilities of the web open to me.
Within the corporate world, homepages are normally set to the page that the business thinks are the most important, so a study of these would prove really interesting to understand how different companies view the importance of their web presence. I was lucky enough (at work) to have free reign over where mine pointed and it was aimed at the Sales & Marketing portal, because that's where I started the day, thinking of what content needed to go there. Oh what fun!

Subject: [WDL] Navigating the Web?

Lunch today consisted of an extremely interesting conversation which centered
on the web and how each of us uses it. As we talked about personal navigation
choices and preferences the concept of homepages arose. My homepage changes
from time to time but usually I have my browser always open up with the ryanair
uk site. That way, before I begin my cyberspace travels, I can scout for
any real space travel deals. Does one's homepage say anything about the user's
preferences? Mine suggests travel, definitely something I enjoy doing online
and off. What is your homepage and what might it say about you?
