My good wishes to Julian Lethbridge, too, and while we are on the subject
of scholarly resources may I recommend the work of Prof. Dana Sutton, a
retired classicist, who has been busy editing and translating a number of
Neolatin texts published in early modern England and posting them on the
Web. These are texts that of course everyone on this list can read with no
difficulty, having been trained in all the learned languages since
kindergarten. If you happen to have a student or friend with less than
steller Latin, though, he or she might find these sites useful indeed. I
forward the last message from Prof. Sutton, who tells me he welcomes
further interest. I warn you that to know Prof. Sutton's work can put a
strain on your printer. My computer won't make the website come out in
usable blue font, but it's easy to type in on the address line. To
repeat--this is but one of many Neolatin texts that he has posted. Anne
