I want to pose a slightly different question, based on the one that asks
where the line is that makes one's attack move from being well
considered to being offensive:
Is language on a listserv ever worthy of censorship based on someone's
idea of what consitutes offensive language? Or, is the toleration of
what offends some of us sometimes simply the price we pay for the useful
stuff? After all, if we see a post from someone whose previous posts
have offended us, we can simply delete the posts while not censoring the
individual.
