5.1 Social Care Institute for Excellence ITT:
Web-based tools to support basic skills assessment in social care. Up to
£35,000 exc. VAT
Technical partners sought to develop web-based tools for the SISCo
project (Supporting Induction in Social Care). Proposals are invited from
appropriately experienced suppliers for the development of: a business
case/service improvement demonstrator for skills assessment and training
integrated into induction; a social care specific skills assessment tool;
a guide to workplace learning.

- E-mentor: Introduces skills and knowledge needed to be effective in the
mentoring role, exploring how modern technologies can enhance that role.
3 OCN credits, Level 2 or 3. 3 hours pw for 10 weeks. Start date: 2

- E-tutor: Gives basic know-how for using Internet technologies to
enhance teaching, and support individuals and groups. 6 OCN credits,
Level 3. 4 hours pw for 15 weeks. Start date: 2 October
- LeTTOL: Award winning course giving the pedagogic skills and
underpinning knowledge needed to develop and deliver online courses.
18 OCN credits, Level 3. 6-7 hours pw for 23 weeks. Start dates: 28

- Net-Trainers: Innovative course delivered simultaneously in 9 European
languages. Aimed at those who want thorough grounding in developing and
delivering online projects. 18 OCN credits, Level 4. 6-7 hours pw for 7
