Dear Ben,
Not sure if this might be of interest http://www.duets.nhs.uk/
It's Iain Chalmers latest project. It's attempting to harvest 'real' questions (from clinicians and patients) where the evidence is poor. The idea being to use this information to help prioritise research. Or, more eloquently, as the homepage states:
"Information in DUETs will help those responsible for promoting and supporting research to address important gaps in knowledge about the effects of treatments to take account of the information needs of patients and clinicians. This may entail providing support for the preparation of up-to-date systematic reviews of existing evidence, if these are not available, or for research to generate additional evidence if up-to-date systematic reviews make clear that this is necessary."
Best wishes
Jon
