Community Excavation 3rd -23rd July 2006
A partnership excavation for local school children and community members,
who will attempt to solve the relationship between the Tudor Tower and the
Mansion, locate and excavate 19th Century rubbish deposits connected to
the occupation of the house by Rowland Hillís progressive school, and in
addition locate the outbuildings that Hill would have occupied.
Perhaps some light will be shed on the medieval antecedents of the site
which stretch back to the 13th century. All sessions are free but have to

Museum of London booking office on 0870 444 3850, discovery sessions by
Bruce Castle staff daily.
Participants have to be at least 7, children occupied by adults, tetanus
jabs up to date, bring water and sun screen.
