Sounds a bit EXCLUSIVE to me!
As a matter of interest the Higher Education Academy held a conference
in Cambridge University yesterday entitled:
Open Source VLEs: The Next Generation (A joint Higher Education Academy,
JISC and RSC Eastern National Conference)
You will notice that 3 open source VLEs were shown - the Moodle
presentation was done by Oaklands College - an FE College!

Subject: Re: [VLES] Using Moodle in UK HE
Hi,
This is a good idea Owen.
To respond to the requests for a joint FE/HE list - Although, yes, we
are
looking at the same system, in my experience HEIs and especially their
management are interested in what other HEIs are doing and often this
involves discussions regarding policy, pedagogic use and quality issues
as
much as the which button does what discussions that don't need
replicating
as they already exist on moodle.org.
I'm all for cross fertilization of ideas and methedology and personally
subscribe and contribute to many mailing lists and forums, but at the
same
time maybe a little HEI corner to discuss our own unique issues would be
useful.

Subject: Using Moodle in UK HE
There are now a number of UK HEIs using or implementing Moodle as their
primary VLE. We (Royal Holloway, University of London) are one of them.
Although there are a number of mailing lists and support groups around
Moodle (notably geographically based), there is not, as yet, anything
that
brings together UK HEIs using Moodle. I would like to propose a UK and
Ireland wide mailing list aimed at this specifically, to share
experiences
of implementing Moodle in a UK HEI, and also to share any common
knowledge
or development. I'd also like to look at the possibility of setting up
somekind of 'usergroup' which could meet to share experience etc - but
perhaps this will come later.
If you would be interested in a Moodle UK HEI mailing list, please let
me
know. If I have a reasonable response, I'll set one up. Please feel free
to pass on this suggestion to others, and let me know if it would be
good
to post it to other mailing lists (currently posted to

).
Thanks,
Owen
