Hello Everyone,
I am pleased to announce a new textual/visual resource for the study of Marcel
Proust. The Ecclesiastical Proust Archive is a searchable database of 336
passages and images on the church motif in À la recherche du temps perdu. It
is also a tool for the study and teaching of related fields such as
narrative, text, hypermedia, art, and architecture.

The archive does not directly answer questions about the Recherche but rather
provides textual and visual occasions for experiencing it. The various search
functions enable the reader to reorganize the text in complex ways, bring to
light new and unexpected relationships.
In addition to the search engine, there is a full range of supporting material
that includes:
- A discussion forum
- Extensive categorized image galleries
- About, Rationale, and Instructions pages
- A descriptive Links page
- A monthly article featuring another resource for Proust, literature, art,
theory, technology, or pedagogy
Right now the archive is in English and the French version should be available
by the end of Summer.
Since it is still a work in progress, any feedback is welcome. Please feel
free to contact me directly ([log in to unmask]) or use the archive's
discussion forum.
Thanks, and I hope you're enjoying the Summer.
