The Technical Advisory Service for Images (TASI) offers a wide range of
practical training courses on digital imaging. There are places available
on the following workshops in May and June (all held in Bristol):
**Building a Departmental Image Collection, Tuesday 16th May
Takes participants through some of the key steps involved in establishing a
collection of images for their department. Deals with issues of image
creation, selection, cataloguing and delivery to users.
**Create and Animate Vector Graphics Using Flash MX - Wednesday 17th May
Suitable for non-technical professionals who wish to create animated
graphics for use on the Web or in presentations. Includes drawing tools,
creating animation using the timeline, and basic action scripting for
navigation and interaction.
**Advanced Photoshop Techniques, Thursday 15th June
Suitable for those with a good working knowledge of Photoshop. This
workshop introduces advanced image optimisation techniques, including
filters, adjustment layers and paths.
*** Introduction to Image Metadata - Friday 16th June
Covers the theory and practice of describing images, including the use of
formal metadata schema and controlled vocabularies.
