This is very off topic. And if people consider it obnoxious, I won't do
I have written a book that I'm offering for "free" to a few people who
might find it useful. The criteria for finding the book useful would be
that you have teenagers who are active on MySpace.com, and you've seen
the scary headlines, but you really don't know all that much about
MySpace or this whole "social networking" thing that appears to have
young people enthralled.
Of course, nothing (or very little) in this world is really given for
"free." (Now that I think of it, I don't actually know what Spenser's
view on that might be...). Anyway, if I send you the book, I'll ask you
to provide me with a few comments, and if you find the book genuinely
useful, I'll ask you to tell your friends about it, put a review on your
blog or on Amazon.com, etc.
About 6 months ago I told my friend on this list that my plan was to
write technology books in order to free myself from my office-based
career, so I could eventually turn to long-planned literary works I'd
like to write. There will be at least one heavily-Spenser-influenced
author in the 21st Century, if my mission succeeds! It's an odd path,
but this MySpace book is the first stepping stone toward that goal...
Anyway, contact me off-list if a free book about MySpace might be useful
to you. It looks like ours (my wife is co-author) is the first published
book about MySpace. I'm told that's good...
