Pedant, schmedant.
The midland Scots (like Dunbar, who loathed highlanders with a positively
venemous hatred -- see Fasternicht in Hell) are lineal descendents of the
Saxon grouping of the Germanic invaders who descended on England like a
plague of locusts in -- was it? -- the eighth century.
Some of them succeeded in surviving to be old.
Difficult but possible.
Takes one to know one.
