The Office of the Historian, U.S. Department of State, Washington, DC,

Department of State-Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), to begin in the
latter half of 2006. This is a Department of State position, but is
funded jointly by both agencies. The Joint Historian serves as the point

other State Department historians in navigating and in gaining access to
the CIA's classified historical records and coordinating negotiations

intelligence matters, in the Foreign Relations of the United States
series, the official documentary record of U.S. foreign policy. The

good interpersonal skills and a strong background, publication record,
and proven research skills in U.S. foreign relations and diplomatic
history. Those who also have expertise in intelligence history are
encouraged to apply. Professional historians with Ph.D.s begin at
approximately $54,000 to $77,000 per annum plus benefits, depending upon
