He is usually reckoned to be Ferdinand III of Castile, which doesn't seem to
be accurate (Ferdinand II was only king of Leon). He was the father of
Alfonso the Wise, usually counted as Alfonso X - but it has been pointed out
(by Martin Cunningham) that he wasn't the 10th of anywhere in particular: he
was apparently Alfonso IX of Asturias, Alfonso VI of Leon, and Alfonso IV of
Castile.
