My name is Dickson Ntwiga (also commonly known as David Dickson). I attended
a course (international Summer School) at the RSC in 2000. I have been
working in the migration field for 10 years now, mainly in Thailand (I
headed the Thai Catholic Commision on Migration). I have given a
presentation on Urban Refugee Education at a Workshop Co-organized by RSC
and Chulalongkorn University, Thailand, in 2004. I'm also a member of the
Refugee Status Determination (RSD) Working Group; the group comprise members
of the NGO Community providing legal aid to refugees around the world and
the UNHCR officials. Michael Kagan coordinates the group.
My immediate academic research interest is in gender-related persecution-
specifaclly researching on the way domestic violence is being addressed in
asylum in the U.S. I'm also interested in education for refugees and
migrants (I'm currently working with International Schools and Universities
in Bangkok to provide refugees and migrants education through grant of
scholarships). "Refugee Education Cannot Wait".
Yours truly,
Dickson
