We are looking for an enthusiastic Contaminated Land Officer to work within
a specialist group of officers dealing with pollution control, air quality
monitoring, private sector housing and noise issues. The role will include
close working with our colleagues in the Planning Department, particularly
in relation to land use issues and proposed developments.
The Division operates a team approach and flexibility is key to service
delivery. The post is a specialist position, however, there may be
opportunities for the right person to broaden their experience. You should
hold a degree in Environmental Health, Environmental Science, Chemistry,
Geology, Hydrogeology or similar. You should also have a sound knowledge
and understanding of current and emerging issues and legislative
requirements relating to contaminated land, both from a planning
prospective and with regard to Environmental Protection.
