Greetings!
We invite applications for our recently added, tenure-track faculty
position in our DPT program at the University of South Alabama (USA)! If
you are interested in an academic career in Physical Therapy, the
position requires a post-professional doctorate or a combination of DPT
and clinical specialist certification. We will consider applicants with
NCS/PCS/GCS certification who are working toward a tDPT (or you could
enroll in our fully web-based tDPT program as you start your teaching
career).
Please review the advertisement below for details but basically we are
seeking someone interested in joining a Neurology teaching team working
alongside other faculty with interest in neurology, pediatrics or
geriatrics to teach and continue development of that portion of the
curriculum. Opportunities for mentorship and an encouraging atmosphere
for professional development are values that are emphasized here.
The DPT Program is one of eight vibrant academic programs in the USA
College of Allied Health Professions, including other doctoral programs,
with many opportunities for collaboration. Plans for a new Allied Health
building have been drawn and approved. Since 1976 the PT program has
graduated nearly 750 graduates, now practicing throughout the United
States and beyond. The first DPT class entered in 2004 and the newly
available faculty position was created as the curriculum expanded for
the DPT. Our progressive faculty currently includes 3 PhDs, 1 MD, 1 EdD,
and 1 DPT and 3 are ABPTS certified specialists plus other specialty
certifications
USA is located in historic Mobile, which is Alabama’s oldest city at 300
