medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Jim: this is excellent material. Thank you so much. A very similar
burial pattern is followed in the Wells cloister Lady Chapel. Although
it all makes perfect sense to me, I'll insert an 'whose original
location is still not agreed' to cover things.
John: From what I know of that volume, there's nothing on the Rochester
Lady Chapel in it. We'll know later in the year! I was sorry to miss
that conference - I'm sorry every time I miss BAA, which with a young
family is all too often.

We may (or may not) learn more about all this when the British
Archaeolological Association Conference Transactions volume is
published
(Medieval Art, Architecture and Archaeology at Rochester, edited by Tim
Ayers and Tim Tatton-Brown, 2006). The Maney Publishing website says
that
it is "Coming soon". I can't find my notes, but in any case I was
distracted by operating the projector... Richard Plant certainly
discussed
the crypt (whether 'hotly' or not, I didn't notice!) - I can't remember
what
was said about the south transept.
