have held pieces of glass.
how does one know that?
>Alabaster can be cut in larger sheets,
or smaller ones; or ones that fit behind the "screen" of stone?
>Transennae hearken back to the days before pieces of glass were leaded
together.
do you happen to know if this particular example is original?
are there slots in the stonework for fitting individual pieces of glass?
seems to me that the same effect could be achieved by having larger sheets
fitted behind the stonework.
and alabaster would be prettier.
