I am working at the University of Newcastle, looking at the issues for
disabled contract researchers/postdoctoral researchers. I am currently
working with disabled researchers to identify barriers, if any, that
exist to academic careers and progression within those careers. We also
aim to locate good practice in professional development. Staff
development materials will be written to address any identified issues.
I would like to make contact with UK-based disabled researchers. If you
would be interested in taking part in the initial research, please
contact me by e-mail. I will send out an explanatory letter and a
questionnaire which can be completed and returned on-line or by post. If
you would prefer to talk through the issues, then we can arrange a time
when we can talk by phone. There need be no further commitment. All
replies will be dealt with confidentially.
Thank you.
