I think I see what you're getting at.
As you say there's a slight potential for confusion as to what is actually
selected at any one time when working with peak tables and spectra, but I
can't reproduce your case where a <peak table selection> and a <peak
selection in a spectrum view> can both be deleted at the same time. The
selection is context dependeent so that if you press the delete key in the
spectrum view then all graphically selected peaks are offered for
deletion, but if you press it in the peak table then the selection in the
peak table is offered for deletion. Seems fairly sane to me.
