Come on Gary, you know better than to try to say anything positive about the
hobby on here.
I am surprised that Nigel has come back on this so swiftly, it appears that
his Heritage Action brownshirts cannot even formulate their own opinion of
the hobby until the officla line is known.

You can count on me :-)

That's a bait which no-one will be keen to swallow I should imagine Gary.
Still, it raised a smile, being the Isle of Wight. An organised busload of
your heritage guarding mates from there travelled all the way to near
Avebury to help the 500, (sans a FLO), who did so much for us there.
And for a further guffaw, the article you cite ends with "This week IW
Council cabinet secretary Cllr Alan Wells confirmed possible cuts to the
archaeology service were still under consideration."
Thank goodness you'll all be there to pick up the pieces (and show pictures
of them on the net.)
