Bidding for learning technology funds: a one-day workshop
26 April 2006, Novotel Manchester West, Manchester
Presenters: Mark Stiles, Staffordshire University;
Jeff Haywood, University of Edinburgh;
and Seb Schmoller, A.L.T.
Project bids are time-consuming and should not be undertaken lightly;
this workshop will give tips on how to avoid wasted effort and dashed
hopes. Three experienced learning technology project managers, who have
run projects with funds from the JISC and other sources, and have judged
bids written by others, will share their perspectives on writing
convincing bids for funds.
Booking deadline: Wednesday 12 April 2006

Lab Group Round Table on Sustainable funding models for
research and development in e-learning
Thursday 4th May 2006, 11-4pm, the Design Council, London
Supported by the Association for Learning Technology and the London
Knowledge Lab
This event will discuss how to support and promote sustainable funding
models for research and development in e-learning. Prof Diana Laurillard
will chair the event, which will include representatives from the public
sector research labs, and research centres, including DTI, JISC, ESRC,
and EPSRC.
We are inviting selected presentations from representatives from Labs
which have a good track record in managing sustainable funding, and from
funding bodies with experience of different models of funding in this
area. We hope they will all share their experiences of best practice and
help us consider innovative funding models for supporting development in
e-learning across the public learning sector.
Please reply to Nora Killoran (send to: [log in to unmask]), the LKL
administrator, at the earliest time as there will be a limit to the
numbers of those attending. If you have any special dietary requirements
please let Nora know.
