3.1 JISC ITT: A Study Evaluating Bibliographic and Citation Databases in
use
by the UK Higher Education Community
… proposals to undertake a number of evaluations of bibliographic,
abstract and indexing and full text databases to assist and inform the
licensing decision-making process of the higher education community.
Funding of up to £30,000 including VAT is available for this study.

3.2 JISC ITT: The Arts and Humanities Service (AHDS) Review and User
Survey
… bids are invited for the operation of a User Survey by means of a
questionnaire targeted at the AHDS users (academic and non-academic) as
well as interviews with selected stakeholders. Up to £15,000 inclusive of
VAT and travel and subsistence is available.

3.3 JISC Invitation to Tender: ICT Industry Consultant to Support the e-
Learning Programme
… tenders from consultants with the relevant skills, expertise and
knowledge to support the interactions between JISC's e-learning programme
and relevant ICT industries to ensure appropriate and effective
relationships are built, maintained and exploited for the benefit of the
sector.

3.4 JISC Capital Programme: Digitisation - Request for Proposals
This Request for Proposals is aimed primarily at enabling access, use and
re-use through the digitisation of analogue collections for learning,
teaching and research. It is envisaged that a small number of large
scale projects with a minimum budget allocation of £500,000 will be
funded through this programme. Deadline for proposals: 12 noon on Friday
26th May 2006.

3.5 European Commission IST results follow-up: prior notification of call
for tenders
… call for tenders on the follow-up to information society technologies
(IST) project results. The contract will involve the provision of
information to the public about results of IST projects, the development
of the existing IST results web-based service and coverage of activities
related to the Information Society Policy Link initiative. The estimated
cost, excluding VAT, is 450,000 euro.

The Secretary of State for Education and Skills wishes to appoint new
Board members to the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE)

6.2 The Higher Education Academy 2006 e-Tutor competition
sponsored by Times Higher Education Supplement, Toshiba and ALT.
This year we have two first prizes:
