Dear All
Some of you may know that until this week there were two conference
calls on Monday dealing with operations. The first was for the ROC to
report issues (generally attended by Philippa Strange, Steve Traylen or
myself) http://agenda.cern.ch/displayLevel.php?fid=258 and the second
was a WLCG Service Challenge call (attended by several people from the
Tier-1, people from some of the more active UK Tier-2s and myself)
https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/LCG/ServiceChallengeMeetings#Weekly
Phonecons . Yesterday the two meetings were merged
http://agenda.cern.ch/fullAgenda.php?ida=a061274). While this should not
directly impact most of you it has led to a slight extension in the
period the ROC reports can be edited as you can read below.
Many thanks to everyone for filling in these reports. I'm pleased to say
that nearly every site is now doing this on a regular basis and the
information is proving useful in improving operations. If you are still
experiencing any problems with the process let me know.
Finally I would like to take this opportunity to remind you of the UKI
Monthly Operations meeting tomorrow 10:30-11:30
http://agenda.cern.ch/fullAgenda.php?ida=a06681. Topics being covered
are: 2.7.0 upgrades; plans for gLite 3.0; throughput testing (T1-T2s)
and the recently announced deployment of the network monitoring boxes.
Kind regards,
Jeremy
