(Conservation and Field Monument Warden)
This second tier post has been created jointly with English Heritage to perform the duties of a Conservation Officer and Field Monument Warden. This demanding but rewarding role reflects the stunningly beautiful environment of this unique archipelago which is designated a Conservation Area, AONB and heritage Coast and includes a proportionately large number of Listed Buildings and Ancient Monuments.
The post is for an initial period of two years and, subject to review and funding, for up to three or more years. Applicants for this challenging post will be expected to have several years experience and a thorough knowledge of historic buildings and landscapes, conservation areas and archaeology.
This is a temporary post of 37 hours per week and is paid on the Isles of Scilly Grades at Grade 6, with a starting salary of £28,221 as of 1st April 2006
