Dear colleagues
We would appreciate your assistance in identifying students who may be
interested in postgraduate study in the Department of Sociological Studies
at the University of Sheffield. We welcome applications in the fields of
sociology, social policy, social work, social anthropology, and criminology.
The Department has two ESRC quota awards available on a competitive basis
and will support one application to the ESRC open competition process. The
deadline for the receipt of applications for these awards is 21 March 2006.
All applicants will be considered for both quota and competitive funding.
Interviews will be held on 31 March 2006.
The Department also has one ESRC CASE studentship: A conceptual and
comparative analysis of how social security systems in OECD countries affect
the labour market participation of partnered women, to be supervised by Zoe
Irving and Bob Deacon. Applications should be received by 30 March 2006.
