2.15 Welcome and introductions.
2.20 FIRST SPEAKER: Carol Bream - Reseaubib Service Manager, European
Commission.
TOPIC: Electronic versus Print - The changing information
landscape - A view from the Commission's Central Library in Brussels.
Carol will speak about on-line information and how this has affected the
type of service the Commission’s Library can offer; the policies of OPOCE as
concerns print/online publication and their digital archiving/repository
policies; problems of online access to periodicals; how the Library tries to
make their online resources available; the difficulties that the Library has
and how they have managed to solve at least some of them; how the Library
tries to ensure that, at least for major EU publications, they have printed
resources at their disposal.
3.10 SECOND SPEAKER: Stig Marthinsen – Caselex
TOPIC: "Caselex - the European one-stop-shop for national and international
case law".
Caselex aims to serve as a European case law resource converting the case
law of all EU Member States plus EFTA into an integrated European knowledge
source for distribution through intermediaries and directly to end-users.
The first portfolio of cases is expected in the first quarter of 2006.
Caselex will focus on important case law that relates to EU Directives and
treaties, such as: Copyright Directive, Electronic Commerce Directive etc.,
and that originates from National Supreme Courts, High Courts, European
Court of Justice, EFTA Court of Justice, etc.
Caselex has secured access to court decisions and transcripts from key
content holders in 10 European countries. The ultimate aim is to cover all
the important case law sources in the EU and EFTA.
After the Meeting there will be wine and snacks, a chance to chat to our
speakers, and to meet and exchange views with other Members.

Individual Membership costs £25.00.
Corporate Membership costs £35.00.
The meeting is free for members, and £20 for non-members.
Any new members who wish to join EUDUG now, and attend this meeting, will be
enrolled until April 2007.
