Lecturer in Russian Studies (Fixed-term)
Applications are invited for the above post. The successful candidate will
teach modules in Russian language and in at least one of the following:
Russian/Soviet film, Russian/Soviet cultural studies, Russian/Soviet visual
culture, 19th & 20th century Russian/Soviet history or contemporary Russian
media.
Candidates should have successfully completed, or be close to completing, a
PhD in Russian studies (literature, culture or history), by the date of
appointment. Training and/or experience in teaching will be an advantage.
Candidates must have an excellent command of written and spoken Russian and
English and a BA or equivalent in a relevant subject area, and be able to
teach Russian from beginners to advanced level. Experience of the UK Higher
Education system, either as students or as lecturers, is also required.
Salary will be £28,009 per annum. This post is available from 1 September
2006 and will be offered on a fixed-term contract for a period of three
years.
