One print source to try for this type of data, work is involved, is the
International Statistics Index from Congressional Information Service, a
subsidiary of Lexis-Nexis. If also interested in United States data in
this area, also try both American Statistics Index and Statistics
Reference Index. These should be available at major academic and very
large public libraries, although I do not know how many UK libraries
subscribe to these Lexis-Nexis services that are very expensive.
"LexisNexis Statistical (UIS Database) -- Large database for finding
international, federal and state statistical information. Also available
in print as International Statistics Index [Z7554.U5 A46 1974-1999]."
