I have had a query from a disabled academic colleague in Nablus,
Palestinian Territories. As you can imagine, life is very hard for
disabled people in Palestine, as I learned first had recently when I did
a video conference with disabled people in Nablus.
One outcome of the ongoing exchange has been this request from my
colleaque Samer Aqrouq at An-Najah National University in Nablus:
"Allow me to take the advantage of knowing that you are having the
desire to
help , we are having 3 blind students at the universty , and they need
special facilities , Braile Computer System with Typing machine , I dont
know if its possible to get the system as a donation from any
institution ,
company , and the university will be able to handle the shipping , or we
can
do this from our side."
If anyone has a system which they no longer need, or which they are
upgrading, perhaps they would consider helping these visually impaired
students and staff in Nablus by donating it.
If you can let me know off list, I can put you in touch with Samer.
Thank you
