We have been successful in getting a Thematic Topic on Wetland 
Restoration at the BES Annual Meeting in Oxford 5^th -7^th Sept. The 
Thematic topic will run on the first day and on the 4^th we will plan a 
site visit to Otmoor and possibly to Cothill Fen Nature Reserves. As 
most of you know, we have Curtis J. Richardson as our guest speaker. He 
will be speaking on the ‘Restoration of the Mesopotamian marshes of 
Iraq’ (40 min). A further 12 or so other papers (20 min each, see 
attachment) have been offered but we need even more papers if we want to 
fill a complete day.

All speakers must submit their abstracts (50 words) to the BES via the 
BES website (see the BES website in March, 
www.BritishEcologicalSociety.org). All abstracts must be submitted 
online via the abstract submission form to the BES by the deadline (12 
May 2006). You must list the thematic topic title as your preferred 
topic on the abstract acceptance form. If you list another session the 
Programme Organiser will allocate you to that session, not the thematic 
topic. Please could you at the same time send your abstract to me so 
that I can keep a record of submissions and start planning a running 
order for the session(s).
