It explains the nonsense of HRGs and why we are now slaves to the whims of
whether or not we order enough Histology!
My understanding of how the groups came about is that the information
nationally is not good enough to do it in a sensible way so they have
compromised on the type of investigation determining the funding.
Therefore a complicated suturing job or a difficult psychiatric problem
patient scores "minor" and an Xray for a stubbed toe (not clinically
indicated) puts the patient into a high income generating HRG.
Ain't bureaucracy wonderful.
