Dear Alison
I wanted to enlist your help for a small project. A Belgrade literary
journal, Treci Trg http://www.trecitrg.org.yu/ (electronic and printed
formats) has asked me to select and translate into Serbian a block of poems
by young Australian poets, which I should submit by September 06. The
journal publishes the work of poets born in 1971 and later, so this is the
age group I am targeting.
Living overseas, it is not easy to find people who fit into this category -
they are rare in anthologies. I would be grateful of any help in getting
hold of younger Australian poets - pointers, suggestions all welcome;
perhaps you could also distribute this invitation to the Internet-based
poetic fora you are a member of.
I would like to invite all Australian poets born in 1971 and later to send
me their selections of seven poems (noting if the poem had been published
before and where), accompanied by a 100-word CV. I will then make a
selection of 20 poems to translate, informing all authors of the outcome. I
am planning to submit the poems by 1 July 2006, as I shall be migrating back
to Australia in August 2006; therefore the selections of poems should reach
me no later than 15 May 2006.
I look forward to hearing from you,
Danijela
