medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
There's a font called Times Old English which works with the ubiquitous
Times New Roman. It has everything your heart desires as regards OE
characters. It's available from
www.georgetown.edu/faculty/ballc/oe/oe-fonts.html#wp and as far as I know
it's free. The only difficulty is that all your characters disappear or are
replaced on computers which do not have the font loaded.
There's another interesting one called, appropriately enough, Beowulf, on
the same site, which has lots of interesting characters with ligatures, and
can go some way towards imitating manuscript.
You can use Insert, Cut-and-paste or, if you're that way inclined, write a
small macro assigned to your function keys, which is what I've done.
Best of Luck
Tony Corbett
