medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Thanks to both Abigail Ann Young and Cyprian Rosen for your suggestions.
That both of you quickly proposed the passage from Acts 5 is impressive.
Moreover, the context of the verses in Acts, where the apostles faced
persecution from unbelievers for speaking the truth corresponds to fairly
closely to Thomas's view of himself. He explicitly compares himself with
David doing battle with Goliath, but he uses other biblical references
more subtly.
Thanks again,
John
